The use of new methods (e.g., non-target analysis, in silico, in chemico, in vitro, OMICS, high throughput, high contents technologies, etc.) is anticipated to increase in a variety of fields of environmental toxicology. Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP) that covers processes from exposome to phenotypic effects is a toxicological construct that connects mechanistic information to apical endpoints in a formalized way for regulatory purposes. The Korea-Japan joint symposium addresses current status and future perspective of AOP and new approach methodologies in environmental toxicology field.
